Blind beauty in a collapsed Vodou temple

10Oct10

Here is a beautiful semi-blind woman sitting in a collapsed Vodou temple. After a protest of internally displaced faced with forced expulsion in front of the crumbling palace, I looked for shade and met a man who brought me on a tour of the Vodou temples, the Baron Samedi rituals in the cemetery and a Vodou flag maker. We got stuck in the rain in the part of Carrefour that always floods, and walked past the tent camp set up in the two meter-wide patch of land between the motorway.
